Well even Sound Forge looks like the ancient Sonitus plugs.  But still great imo.

I've really grown to like CD Architect and want to think I first got it back in the early 90'S??  with my SCSI Plextor drives....!

I think it is more that it looks... well not like an audio application. It looks like a computer program, like Excel or the like. It's UI is very minimal, very functional, not flashy. I really like it. While the pretty UIs are visually appealing, the basic ones really get stuff done well. A simple Windows slider control is really much better for setting things then some flashy skeuomorphic dial.

I respect Sony for keeping it functional and high performing, rather than going all crazy with making it look pretty.

The CD standard hasn't changed I guess the software doesn't need to either. If you want more you can go to DVD Architect which is at version 6 and comes bundled with Vegas Pro. It's not like Sonay are t doing new stuff but they're obviously concentrating on the Video side of things. Their Spectral Layers Pro is also an awesome product that I don't have yet. I don't know whether Sound Forge is ever going to be 64 bit but I guess it doesn't need to be.
