Ok here is a rewrite of a track I put up here a year or so ago.  It was at the time called Synth Sonata No1, I've rewrote so it's a classical tune, this is because it is one of my audtion peices to get into the conservatorim (the conservatorium is pretty stuffy).  Whilst the violin sample is pretty synth sounding and this beacuse I am still learning how to use the Notion 3 sequencer software, I kind of like the avant garde feel of the strings.  Sorry can't think of a better term to describe the strings than avant garde.

Enjoy, Peace Ben

Ben!  This is a short, but sweet piece of music, and not what I might have expected.  I wouldn't particularly classify this piece as classical, nor would I apply avant garde as a description of the string arrangement.  Doesn't matter, labels aside, it's good music.  I hope it helps you in regard to the conservatorium.  Bravo.

Hi Ben Good interpretation although I found that the violins don't give room for the dynamic and the expression on this. I mean it maybe can be nicer if you lower the volume down a bit in the middle for example where the instruments talk to each other, well my 5 cent. It works well out with piano.

Nice piece. Yeah, the strings seem to be the biggest issue. I did notice "pitch wheel" action. That something (to me unexpected). Did the bow slip out of someone's hand?

That first part I expected that partial quartal voicing arp to finish (theory humor).

The piano was nice, but the reverb was a bit much (to me) or was it the patch used (with the preset). Is it supposed to be in a concert hall?

Nice dialogue among the strings, but tone the "egos" a tiny bit.

Again, nice piece and I hope his gets you into the conservatory.

Ben I like the way the piano and the strings work together. although I would not call this classical music, but it is still a great arrangement

Listened twice:

A lot of musical 'walkings' building up into magical exaltation.  EXTREMELY artsy solid music for 'that occasion', bro!

I love the expressionist bending at 1:10 ... hahahaha ... with that orchestral instrument ... and the counter-melodies that follow swiftly.

Also, this is watery and lovely ... not relying on drums or beatz.  The mega-dynamics and orchestral instruments 'verbs ... both seem most excellent ... A beautiful and magical digression (if you will).

This is nice!  It seemed to take awhile to get to the build up, but perhaps I was just being impatient.  Good luck!

Thanks guys for all your sweet words. About to leave for my audition. Not nervous but I just want to get this over with! 26 years of craft and learning and it all comes down to half an hour this afternoon.

Peace Ben
