Audition will not launch from the tools menu from within Platinum.  I am not sure what the syntax is in RegEdit to launch as admin.  It does show up in the in the Platinum tools menu as an option.

As long as SONAR runs as administrator, and Audition does too - it should work. My problem was that SONAR runs as administrator but Audition wasn't.
 
This is from my .reg file. Are you OK playing around with these? Or going in to the registry and doing it manually?
(I don't want to be responsible for screwing anything up)
 
 

Opened Sonar as admin and tried to edit from the tools menu.  Audition opened and worked fine.
 
What is the difference in opening programs as admin?
 
I have re-installed Audition with no luck as it still won't launch without running as administrator.
