Hey all,

Just wondering... Is there a way to import the kits that came with Addictive Drums 1 into Addictive Drums 2? I'm not seeing any way to do it...

Thanks

All of the AD1 kits should have migrated to AD2 during the install.  No need to import them.
Don't look for the same names...the Stock Kits were split up into 3 separate kits...
But they all should be there....

When you upgrade from AD1 to AD2, all your existing kits should automatically get added to AD2 as AD2 kits. They may have different names, and some AD1 kits have been split into new kits. Check your XLN account and make sure everything is active. However, if you "upgrade" by only buying an AD2 pak, only that pak is in AD2 format, as far as I am aware.

What Dan said is correct...if you did NOT buy the upgrade, and just bought a Kit, the answer is
NO you cannot import them.   All the samples are new, and that is why you have to upgrade.
You can get a good price on the upgrade and get an ADpak on the XLN site for $129..it was $99
at intro....which was a no-brainer

I don't know how much of a no brainer it is. You can get a stack of chocolate cake kits for session drummer for the price of the upgrade and ad2 is mostly hype and advertisements IMHO.

I did buy the upgrade btw.

For me, AD2 falls third on the list, being

BFD 3 - nothing compares right now...
Superior Drummer 2
AD 2...

I don't think people truly realize how significant AD2 is...it is far more versatile and usable
then EZ2....don't get me wrong - EZ2 is GREAT for Song Writing...but soundwise it's
far to limited...and TT just gave you new graphics and MIDI, not entirely redone samples...
which XLN did do...

On the top end - BFD 3, SD 2, SSD 4 Platinum
Middle  - AD2 - it falls in between because it gives you more (full) tweakability then EZ2-
(which is vastly limited)
Low end - EZ2, SSD 4 EX

Session Drummer falls under these...and the Chocolate Cake Drums...they're not worth much...
unless you're a heavy Session Drummer user..

That's my rankings....YMMV

Mind you, if you just want to slap drums on a track and be done....that changes things.
But most do quite a bit of tweaking....as presets never quite give you what you're looking
for...and that is why I rank them this way...

Thanks for the replies guys. Yea I bought just the Fairfax kit so the others didn't import. I had also e-mailed support and they're offering $79 to do the regular upgrade though that will bring in all my AD1 kits. I think I'll go for it.

And yea SuperiorDrummer I think when it comes to sound quality is the best out there (and I actually have it too), but when it comes to ease of use, I really love AD. Getting what I want is just so fast. But I do jump back and forth between the two.

I never really like BFD as much as either of these and I've had bad experiences with SessionDrummer (honestly like 50%+ of the crashes I ever had came while having a session of SessionDrummer running... and I've tried reinstalling and it's still a problem)... Plus I just don't think Session sounds nearly as good as any of the others really.

Good information, but one problem....

Like Polar Bear I just bought the Reel Kits (with the AD2 engine), so nothing imported. So today I bought (and installed) the AD2 Upgrade and everything's cool except. My Afro-Latin Kit (AD Pak) still says AD1 on the installer and AD2 does not see the Afro-Latin ADPak Kits. Any ideas?

You should definitely contact support. I only had the kits included in the AD that came with Sonar and when I bought the real upgrade this morning it worked. But when I e-mailed support they were pretty quick to write me back with an answer. I bet they could help.

Excuse me for my english.. I have Sonar X1, and Addictive Drums 2. When I set the "multioutput" mono or stereo.. and check the output in the AD2. I only have 2 tracks of the Master Stereo workings.. the other 16 are freeze. I choose every combination of Sonar (All Mono output, All Stereo Output) in the AD1 its very easy.. and work.. but in the AD2. the tracks are freeze.. and only works 2 outputs (The masters) any suggestions?
