I thought about building for myself but I wondered about the 5 way switch.
 
It seemed to me with the bridge HB and middle combined that the middle really wouldn't have a lot going for it...
then I found this wiring mod today. Thought I'd mention it for those that may have use. Since I'm sure not a wiring brainiac this
sure helped me.

I've used a couple of this guys wiring mods in my customs Michael.  They worked great!

I bookmarked it. I have so many when I start to wire one up I spend more time looking and thinking than it takes to do the job.
Splitin' a HB with the 5way switch was just another thing I'd never thought of.

The custom that Space Cowboy now owns (where IS he anyway?) has a custom 5-way switch AND a new knob where the tone knob usually goes along with two switches.  I could get two-dozen different sounds out of that combination.

I've never played one Greg but read that bridge HB will sure override that middle pup in the 4th pos. and makes sense to me so this is a great workaround without having to add a another switch plus you get back the quack lol.

My HSS Lone Star Strat's stock wiring splits the bridge.

I'm making a flame maple neck right now- it'll have a rosewood fretboard and if it doesn't go south
I'll be making an HSS body to go with it- for myself.
I'll wind a HB, already have the singles and wire it to split.
