Excellent point Steve (about saving paper) - and just to be clear, we usually re-use the same paper and boxes every year, for at least a couple of years.

There isn't much that needs to be discarded, and when it does, it all goes to the recycling container.

Incidentally, in Vegas, you have to pay an extra fee for recycling pick up, and they only pick up stuff every two weeks. You're provided with those ridiculously tiny little containers.

As a result, our garage is filled with cardboard boxes because we never manage to get rid of all of them.

That's one thing which I guess was better back in Quebec. We had those big bins and pick up occurred weekly.

Rapping gifts are supposed to be music.

Just always turn the package upside down on the paper and you'll figure it out from there or just go to the jewelry store, buy a ring, locket, Pandora charm and they will put it in a nice bag for you. All done! I like gifts that come in email! Gift certificates from Amazon, GC, or Sweetwater, or a tee shirt.
Anyway, I think you did fine!

I'd love the simplicity of e-mails, but it nice to have stuff under the tree, We're into the very traditional Christmas ambiance.

This year, we even tried candles that were supposed to give a scent similar to a real wood fire. Because, as convenient as the gas fireplace is, something is missing big time. Unfortunately, it didn't really work.

As for the rest, my wife enjoys seeing my messed up wrapping almost as much as the actual gifts. :P

Looks nice!  Also looks like you've got a bit of Tim Burton's work entering into the picture on the left.

Oh, we have all that too!! I sometimes get something I like in a wrapped present but only my immediate family, my wife and daughters have any idea at all who I am or what I like, or what size I wear for that matter.
My younger daughter got me a gift certificate for SW and my older daughter got me one of these:

It is pretty quiet and has no headroom but compresses nicely!

That's nice! :)

My iMac which I got in October was actually my Christmas gift, but my wife obviously wouldn't want not to have some more for me on Christmas.

Since she has access to my Amazon wish list, she picked lots of smaller items I've been wanting for a while, like a Star Trek book, a couple of KISS books and CDs, some clothes. She also found a great book about scoring to film, and a cool Beatles musical map sort of poster.

And last but not least, an Apple TV, which is actually for both of us, so we'll finally be able to watch iTunes movies on the big screen or stream some content from our laptop.

You gotta love technology - at this point, everything in the house is networked together via wifi, w/o the need to actually set up a network., and you can airdrop files from one device to another or simply stream them. Pretty awesome.
