Another Iron Pack (#11) has been released by SoundIron. I don't have this one yet and have only heard the demo, but all of the previous installments have been worth the 4 or 5 bucks they go for.

This one's an Irish penny whistle. OK, maybe not an instrument you'll use every day, but for $3.99 what the heck?

For those unfamiliar with the Iron Pack series, they are small Kontakt libraries that require full Kontakt (4 or 5).

I might get this, even though I have some real ones in different keys and can do a half arsed job of playing them setting up to record anything acoustic is a challenge in my limited space.

I'd been searching for some environmental sounds and still have been finding very few worthwhile offerings.  However, Sound Iron has this collection called Glass Beach.  I'd encountered that item before in various searches, but noticed it again when reviewing the site after jumping there from Bitflipper's post.  Glass Beach has at least some of the kinds of sounds I've been looking for.  Just $10, so almost free.

The Iron Packs actually also include SFZ presets as well, so you don't need to own Kontakt to use them. They work in Cakewalk's Dimension Pro, Plogues Sforzando Player, Linux Sampler and a bunch of other sfz compatible platforms.

Thanks for the correction. And I knew that, too, so my bad.

Thanks for stopping by our little corner of the interwebs, Mr. Soundiron. Can we assume that #13 will be along soon?
