ohgrant- Thanks for listening. Appreciate the feedback.

Theband19-  I also questioned some of the moves between the guitar and keys. I was thinking about making one stronger. They seem to be more interwoven here. In a few places it could be understood that they are maybe even playing over one another. Not usually a good thing. I understand what you mean to say and thanks for listening and commenting. The number is highly improvisational  but I maybe could do something with those parts. Thanks again!

guitartrek- I wondered how much the keys panned would stick out. I will remove the panning and repost. Thanks.

notnat- Thanks man. I love to hear you noodle around with those grooves lol.

Marcus- Thanks, I did have fun with it.

Metaltech- Thanks for listening and your comments.

CLEAN- Thanks! I have so much fun at it I loose track of the time in the studio, ever happen to you?

OLD55- Thanks for listening and commenting. Appreciate it!

Lynn- Thanks for listening. I see the  auto tos must have blanked a word but I get the jist of it.

 Have a great day guys.

For some reason, the word s.p.i.c.e. gets blanked all the time for me.  I don't know which language this is offensive in, but it must be something.

Really cool jam session!  I too think there's a bit too much delay on the guitar.. it doesn't cut through as much as it should.  Also, maybe if it had a bit more low mid in it's tone and were turned up a dB or 2 I think it would sit just right.  I get the panning thing from the Rhodes... I think it's OK.  I'd like the horns to keep their staccato flavor by reducing their reverb time quite a bit...it's too long for this tune IMO.

Hey, I enjoyed the listen Starise.  Good job...send us more!

Lynn- Same thing recently happened to me not sure how that word figures into things.

Tony- Thanks I followed up on a lot of the suggestions here. I did boost the guitar. Unfortunately I played it through an effect unit and can't do anything here but delete and play that over which I may do.

I applied some volume envelopes to the various parts in order to offset some of the apparent places where instruments seemed to be over one another and I gave each instrument more of its own place. I added a sax part in a few places. A bunch of other little things I did here with EQ and levels. I sidechained the bass and sent my drums to it to avoid as much mud as possible. Here is a link to improved mix, same as above. Thanks for listening.

Ah yes... the one drawback to recording guitar "wet"... ya gotta love it cuz ya gotta live with it.  LOL  It's probably easier to just go back and replay it than do all the fixup, but I'm amazed at what some of the "tools" can do.

Hey, Tim,

I guess I missed the first mix, but this version is a very cool experimental jazz fusion instrumental with a nice clean, wide sounding mix!

I love the Santana vibe that the percussion sets off, and the keyboard work and synth choices were excellent.  I really like how the tasty little guitar licks slip in and out with the melodies of the synths and horn parts.

Great playing and arranging with fresh, modern sounding, production work.  Really good stuff, Tim!
