This is (yet another) fun, upbeat pop song.
Original key:

Redux in slightly higher key:

This one IMO is a slight bit lower quality (as far as the mix and some vocals) than some of my previous work, but I think it came out great (in the instrumental, specifically).

Cool tune.

just watch the key that you write in. It's too easy in an isolated studio to tend to write too low.... get your voice up into it's "working range" on everything you write.   Think of it like a car engine.... they work best when they are in the 50% to 80% range. Lots of power and torque....and they perform beautifully, same with the human voice.

Unless you are Barry White, you want to sing a bit higher.

Perhaps it'd be wiser of me to start writing... To my voice?

I do know we all have different songwriting processes and we don't have to follow a certain structure, but is it best to have a vocals tune worked out, lyrics complete, or basic chords first in the line?

I tend to take my keyboard into my room and hammer around until I find something I like, then start writing lyrics.

yeah.... change the key of something to match your voice.

I write that way all the time..... if I'm going to sing it I want it in a key conducive to my range.

Often if I then have another person sing it as I tend to do from time to time, I have to move it to a different key for them.  I always want the song to be in the "power range" and comfort range of the singer's voice... whether it's me or someone else.

Nice party song.  I'm reminded a bit of Weezer with the vocals and harmonies.  The arrangement is clever, with its beginning and breaks that keep this from being  predictable.  I like your choice of instuments, which fit the mood and song perfectly.  All in all, this is very well done.

Thanks a ton, Lynn! I was intending to go listen to some Weezer recently, and for whatever reason, ended up... not doing that.

To GuitarHacker, I once again just went through a re-rec'd the mess out of it. I like the original just as much as the new one (if not a bit more), but I'm going to upload the new one.

I do know I shouldn't just outright redo songs based on one person's recomendation, but then again I want the highest quality production I can get with what I've got, so I'll do what I can do to get this album looking good. Thanks, guys!
