I just about finished the mix and then redid this in X2.  A reel rocker.

Had a listen. Levels seemed kinda low. Vocals were hard to hear and understand ...at least to me.

I was waiting for some sort of break to a chorus or bridge which never came. A chorus or bridge gives you the opportunity to change the energy and direction for a time in the song.

I'd say, unless I'm missing the concept totally of the song, it needs a bit of work.

I really like people who think outside the box, and you gave me something that I like very much.  It was arranged in a way that each element of the mix had its own place, which makes the choice of sounds stand out all the more.  I like that it was unpredictable which made me accept the arrangement for what it is.  I suspect that the vocals aren't necessarily the centerpiece of this song, so not understanding the lyrics was less important than the feelings they convey.  The levels were OK here, in fact, I liked the sense of dynamics in this piece.  This song is outside the norm, so whether it's finished or not is entirely up to you.  I like it as is.

I really enjoy the tune. The vocals so far back I'm not sure about. That's a great voice, sounds a bit like the Eurythmics. Perhaps some panning and volume fluctuations making the vox more up front at times? A really cool concept so far.

The middle seems to be missing for me, needs a little tweaking as suggested above.

Thanks for sharing.

This is really good. I kind of stopped hanging out here for a while because the quality of work was pretty poor. That has really changed. I very much like the vocals back in the mix on this and I expect it accomplishes what you wanted to accomplish. I wont try to put a word on it but I think it is very evocative.

Thanks all.  I was struggling w/ the vocals vol before the upgrade to X2, then tried to mix it w/ different tools.  Finally got all my old mixing favs up and authorized.  And tracked down a missing reverb on the organ, which smoothed it out some tho it still fights w/ the vocal.  It is only roughly mastered now, which also changed the level relationships.

The other thing about the vocals is the singer kept (keeps) saving to make it more robotic or mechanical.  I can't just do what I want since she is my better half ;-)

Anyway, I'll give it another pass (or two!).  Thanks for the listen.

Ok.....I REALLY REALLY REALLY like this concept...I can see a production out of this..

The levels are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to low....this should sound like a Machine...
LOUD and heavy and crashing down...

Vocal should be more out front...WOW...this would make such
a production ...

GREAT arrangement....bravo...

I agree with some of the comments about the vocal.  It sounds really good but not loud enough, unless it's supposed to be that way.  I would probably like a chorus or break for the reasons Herb said but I imagine someone dancing to this and they don't care as long as the beat is alright.  There's some booty mvin' stuff in here.  :-)
