Personally I like the way TH2 and Mark Studio brings up a dialog when there's a new update available - you have to select "update" or "not at this time" to dismiss it. Might be annoying for some, but I appreciate the in-your-face reminders. 

I'm with Sharke on this.   I very much like programs that tell me there is an update available.
Reaper does this.  Several others do as well...and then they let me chose whether or not
I wish to update now or just continue....

This has been an invigorating thread... long ago I relegated Geist to "why'd I get this" but after reflecting on all your thoughts I brought it up and the GUI is far more legible to me now (been taking NR, which has radically improved eyesight)...
 
Another learning curve!!! But thanks, all...And ended up getting the cinematics and bfd after the deadline so it's still active as of 1247am on west coast!
