I am using a screen resolution at 1920x1080 as standard for my system.

Now how can i possible record that " full screen " at at least 24 fps and at good quality 1080p ( youtube video ) for free ?

What freeware, and how do i set it up , and hopefully with some sound recording as well !

IMHO this is as good as it gets for free. CamStudio

48 seconds of full screen ( 1920 x 1080 ) video in 20 fps, is 764.5 mb in .avi format at 50% quality....
That is about 1GB per minute of video, and it is too much.
the inbuilt encoders is not good enough to keep filesize down.

EDIT:  CamStudio Lossless Codec v1.5 did help a lot in size
about 62mb for like 50 sec of video at full Screen 25 fps, and that is still way to much.

Tried the .mp4 conversion,  Cam Studio crashes at mp4 conversion
at least with my system .....flash video is also messed up.

then there's only the .avi that's is usable. ( youtube converts to mp4 anyway )

Ok so do anyone have a good suggestion for a simple all in one, free or pay'd software
that really works without making HUGE files and have a strange fps !

Camtasia is the best "all-in-one" option that I know of. I only used the trial for this and it was nice (but the full version is $300).

When the trial ran out, I realized I had Adobe Premiere Pro (which doesn't capture desktop), and now use "Free Screen to Video" as the recording software, and edit within PP. I would not recommend this option for you, as the learning curve for PP is rather painful for a DAW user, and is not "all-in-one" (or even close). I picked up FSTV based on the best answer in this Yahoo post.

Check out the trial of Camtasia though and see if it suits your needs. You can also give the other options mentioned in the Yahoo post a go.

Thanks for chiming in, i miss-used the term " all in one " my fault...

I was thinking more like a " clean simple " Screen Recorder
all i want is a great sharp recording with a good frame rate 30 fps
and "all commonly " used video formats and with the most common used  audio formats.

Thank's a lot for the suggestions.

After trying out many screen recorders with various problem, I'm quite happy using Active Presenter (free version).

Finding something that is sharp, high frame rate AND makes small files is serious challenge. You are basically asking for real time encoding of advanced compression. The only encoders I have ever used that could pull that off consistently were hardware based. I think your best bet is to find solution that works best for your system in terms of functionality  and accuracy and then convert to more manageable file size after capture.

So far, Aktive presenter has given me ok Quality at a very low filesize
the video above is  4.2 mins and about 61.5mb in size ( .avi ), guess it is hard to beat that one.

It seems a bit jumpy at the frame rate, but i don't know if it will affect the sound.

Now i just need to figure out how i gonna manage the sound.

How do you guys manage to record the sound... ? Hardwiring the Audio interface
or is there a software rewiring program that can do it.
