this forum can operate anyway it wants but I'm the one that will decide
if it's something I agree with or not.
I don't agree with anybody changing what I write without telling me first so I'm gone..is that clear enough Karyn?

Wanted my friends to know why. See ya.

This thread

I changed the title from "How about they" to something more meaningful in a long list of feature suggestions.

Wanted my friends to know I'm doing my job.  I even voted 5* for the suggestion.

However politically correct the changes are/might be, it might have been a better idea to contact Spacey first and ask/suggest it for him to change the title no? After all, he is the author of the thread and deserves that respect.

No disrespect to anyone ever intended in anything I do, however I don't have time to PM everybody and ask their permission every time I do the job I've told to do.

It was not a change for political correctness or anything like that,  in the context of a list of feature suggestions the original title was meaningless.

I'm saying no more on the subject.

I hope Spacey isn't gone for good. He's a good guy with a lot of knowledge that I have personally benefitted from. He will be sorely missed. :(

I think Spacey has a good point. Spacey should have been notified in advance.  I hope he changes his mind.

Perhaps the original title could have been preserved in ( ) brackets for example. I think it is a bit strong reaction to leave because of a title change.

I have submitted posts, blogs, etc. on various forums and sites where editors/hosts/admins have changed my titles on occasion. While I generally had reasons for the titles I used, I had no problem with the changes. I'm not saying what I think anyone else should do, but I do not have a problem with having a forum host alter the title of my thread, move it to a more appropriate sub forum, or even lock it as they see fit without notifying me first. I can also understand why someone else might feel differently.

To me, this is a dynamic community where I am only one participant in a larger (rather noisy) discussion. If I have something I really want to say without any external filtering or editing, I'll say it on my blog. That's just me, however. YMMV.

I enjoy following Spacey's threads on guitar building even though I have absolutely no skills (or comprehension) in that area. It's good to see an artist at work. I hope we get to see more.
