I just stumbled onto this new violin section library.  Sounds quite nice, and the price can't be beat for the quality:

http://ariasounds.com/symphonic_strings_kontakt_orchestral_violin_1.html
Intro price right now is 29.99 Pounds Sterling (about $46 US).

Also check out their solo violin and cello - among the best-sounding I've come across.  29.90 pounds each, but both are included in the Super Bundle 1, along with French Horn, Celtic Harp and Nylon Guitar.  Cost of bundle is 59.99 pounds (about $51 US).

No, I'm not affiliated with ariasounds, just passing this find along!

I bought this about a week ago.

Cons- no release samples.
The interface isn't as responsive as I'd like.
No keyswitching
CC11 volume control instead of modwheel.
Doesn't respond as well as I'd like to fast playing.
Notes are a little uneven(tuning,volume)

Pros-
Nice tone
Lots of articulations
Crazy low price.

Overall I'd recommend buying it while it's on sale. This won't make you sell your expensive string libraries, but it will complement them well. These strings have a very nice tone and some of the slight imperfections actually help when blending. The long sustained notes can sound really beautiful with the right reverb and you can unload unused mic positions to save RAM. I'm planning on getting Kirk Hunter's CS3 when they're released, but I think I'll pick up the aria violas and cellos too, because I think blended together they'll give a really lush huge sound.

It's not the best string library on the market, but it might be the best deal.
