Hi all,

Well, here is my 1st composition using X2.  The song is a collage of guitars, sort of a guitar orchestra if you will, attempting to form the illusion of clouds...on fire.  They morph and hopefully never play the same thing exactly twice.

All parts were played by me, and only the bass line was MIDI'd (quantized)... all other parts except the EZ Drummer part were played by me in real time.  There are a few loops utilized in this song, and I hope it demonstrates that they can be used very creatively and musically.

The tune took 90 tracks, 24 of which are guitar parts.  ProChannel and FX Chains were used extensively.

The guitars were recorded using a single SM-57 mic in front of my Egnater Tweaker amp, and I played a 1995 Fender Robben Ford guitar and a late model G&L Telecaster as well.

I had a ball mixing this one!  I sure hope you enjoy it.

And it's odd that the Soundcloud tagline says ...SONAR X1 Producer Expanded.  It was recorded with X2.  A Cakewalk oversight on their Soundcloud link???

Tony, this is fabulous work.  I have nothing to say about the mix because it sounds very good on my speakers.  Each element is in its own place, and I could close my eyes and imagine that there was a band in front of me.  X2 and you are a good wedding.  And, thanks for all the ideas you have given me for my own mixes.

Clouds on fire indeed! I love how alive this song is. Everything is moving, yet you managed to keep it all cohesive! Excellent work.

Thanks for the comments guys.  Really tried to fit all the parts into specific places (cuz there's so many), yet, keep a lot of motion going.  (Plenty of ear-candy in this one!)

Lynn, I learn stuff in here all the time.  Great place to visit.  :-)

Plenty of ear candy is right. Fully textured.

24 guitar parts, wow.

Really good production.
