Thanks guys - in the first two "songs" the guitars are one take thru, no overdubs at all, and mostly improvised on the spot with little to no preparation. In fact, in the first song I really did just prop up the guitar in front of the amp and let it feedback, while manipulating my effects pedals in real-time. Same with the bass tracks.
Song 3 is a bit more "planned out" with two actual recorded guitar tracks.
Song 4 is a "cover" of a lesser known song from the third album of a metal band from the 1980's. I wanted it to be kind of like Sunn O)))'s "FWTBT".
@James - yeah, the drums might be little off-time here and there, but that makes them seem more "human" to me. Since these are programmed (or played on a keyboard) drum samples (EZ Drummer and Big Mono Analog drum samples), I want it to sound as much like a "live" person playing a drumkit as possible. So a lot of the little beats, fills, cymbal crashes, etc., aren't quantized. I even used the "humanize" control to "de-quantize" some of the drums.
