Thanks Tim... I tried to use X2, but I got bogged down, so I started over in 8.5... maybe I'll eventually put in the time, and learn to use X2... how 'bout you... are you using the new program yet?

I tried it. It screwed up my Rapture and DimPro installs.
And, Breverb won't work in anything else but X2.
So, I uninstalled it.
But, yea, I think "bogged down" describes it pretty well.

Reggae-lite, but it certainly works in a charming way.

Such touch on the guitar, makes me jealous...

Frank, this is a real gem!  Your marriage of styles works very well here, and I love the vocals very much.  As always, your lyrics hit home and make this song one of the best around anywhere.  Bravo!

Thanks Lynn, but i can't take credit for the lyrics... except for the Islands & Rum parts... my home boy, Buddie Buie wrote the original lyrics... he also wrote most of the lyrics for all the Atlanta Rhythm Section's hit records...

I too enjoyed the BGV. I could really hear that bass even on my buds. Mix sounds pure. It's too bad about that guitar and amp, they sound really old. Heck, the amp probably even has tubes in it!

Thanks Robby... I did spend a lot of time on the BGVs
I hate tracking BGVs... I really hate having to wear headphones...

Frank,

Awesome work as usual.   I agree, the BGV are really good.   I am with you though, it takes more time to tweak and tame the BGV, in some cases, than the whole rest of the parts in the song.....    Your guitar playing is so smooth.    Love it.

Regards

Thank you James... I agree with "reggae-lite"... or maybe "redneck-reggae"
as always, I'm looking forward to your next production...

Hi Frank,

Love the song and the reggae feel. Really nice spacious mix.

As others have mentioned, the BGV's are outstanding.

I like the marimbas and incredible guitar playing/tone, too.

Yeah, I always want to rush through the BGV part of the production, so I can get the damn cans off my big head... Thanks for the feedback Mark...
