I hear ya Bill. In the mid seventies I saved all my gig money-kept a book with notes - and bought my first
nice component stereo system. It was nice.

Also, they want me to get those ear thingy monitors you stick in your (MY) ear. THEY COST OVER $400 I think. geese I've been in this band less than 2 days and already I Am in debt!
