I was watching Monday Night Football that night and doing a stipple portrait of him for an art class.  It was half completed.  I was stunned, but finished the drawing later that evening.  I look back and wish that I had just stopped, the minute that I heard the news.  I have it somewhere still.  If I get a chance I will scan it an post it.  It needs to be scanned and saved anyway.

It is still one of the darkest days I can remember.

I know so many old guys who say they just broke down into tears when they heard he had been shot. Just one of these terrible things I suppose. He signed an autograph for the same guy earlier in the day too.

For my dough John Lennon was the greatest post war singer songwriter- even better than Paul Simon. RIP DR Winston O'Boogie :)

What a horrible thing. RIP.. I really think that John was what I would consider to be a "good guy".

Sugarplumb fairy, Sugarplumb fairy. The sixties were gone for good after that night. I guess they had to end that way. Medgar Evers, Macolm X, John Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy. Koo koo kachoo.

I was in the hospital when the news broke and took it hard. I remember just staring out the window while the radio played Beatles songs. It was the end of idealism.
