Bob, this song is tough is strong but the kick is quick, maybe a more mettalica kick drum to beef it up, put ALOT of boost11 on that kick, keep it at the same db but push those lowend sounds that come after the initial thud so the bass drum really booms like a body blow. I  know alot of people hate boost11 but I use it alot...especially on drums to get the thunder rolling...

Hey, Freddy,

Thank you, buddy, I really appreciate you taking time to give this a listen and also your very kind comments!

By the way your latest blues song that you posted, "Slow Moe", is really a kicker, great stuff, Freddy!

Thanks again, and have a great weekend!

Hi, Daryl,

How are you, buddy?  Hope you're doing great!

Thanks for checking in on this one for me, and for your kind words and good input!

Yes, Sir, my guitars sound a little bit different (whoofy?), than usual on this one because of a driver update for my interface accidentally switching the record bit depth down to 16 bit, and me not noticing.  But I think a little more EQ surgery should be able to fix this one up again, like on my last song post for "The Same".

Yep, LOL, I felt that I needed the abrupt ending in order to get the "SMACK" sound effect in at the end, just to drive the point of the song home.

Thanks again for giving it a listen and your good observations, greatly appreciated, my friend!

The Band 19:

Hey, Robby,

How's it going, bro?  Doing great, I hope!

LOL, yeah, I mentioned above to Lynn, I think I was channeling my old biker bar playing days, which was actually a ton of fun, believe it or not!

Yeah, I loved The Pat Travers Band and saw them live four times, the first time was when they were opening for Rush.  My cover band at the time ended up playing 'Out Go The Lights", "Heat In The Street" and "Snortin' Whiskey" over the years and they were always fun to play and rowdy crowd pleasers.

Yep, as I mentioned to Frank up above, I actually intended to have a delayed echo slapback on this song, but during the chorus.  Maybe I'll test out your suggestion for the verses just to see what happens.

By the way, the remix of the Van Halen collab that you did with Mark sounds dynamite, really nice work by both of you guys!

Thanks for giving this a listen and for your input, suggestions and comments, I always appreciate you stopping by, buddy.  Have a good one!

Hey, Mark,

Thanks very much for giving this a listen and for your encouraging comments and observations!

Yep, as I mentioned to Frank above, I'm not quite sure how to change the "Walk away" part of the chorus vocal to fit the straight beat any better.  Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, and I'd be sure to give them a try.

Believe it or not, the descending element is actually the EMG active bridge pickup of my PRS coil tapped, lo-fi eqed with a heavy tremolo added.  To me also, it kind of sounded like a synth and I thought it added a cool "cleaner" sounding element to contrast the heavy guitars.

Thanks again for your input and comments, and excellent job on your new Van Halen remix with Robby, great stuff, Mark!

Hey, Tim,

Thanks a lot, brother, I really appreciate you giving this a listen and commenting!

LOL, you know, I'm sure you've seen "beer muscles" before.  When a guy gets drunk and starts puffing up, picking fights and wants to take on every guy in the bar, including the bouncers.  Every beer he drinks, he thinks he's stronger and tougher than everybody else in the joint and he wants to prove it.  LOL, It usually doesn't work out very well for them.

Hey, thanks again, Tim, and your new song "Long Way Down" is outstanding, really a breath of fresh air.  Have a good one!

Hey, thanks, brother, I really appreciate you taking time to give this a listen and also your kind words of encouragement!

Also, killer job on your dynamite cover of "I Am The Walrus", lots of hard work on a very difficult song to cover, and you really did it justice.

Thanks again for your input, and have a rockin' weekend!

Great start Bob.

On that first break (@ 0:23), the fade is kinda strange.

Ok Bob... here's one way to fix the chorus timing...

zoom in on |AWAY|
split the clip on both ends,
disable snap-to, and trim the clip to make room to move the clip...
zoom in closer, and slide the clip until it sounds right...

or just re-sing it...

or as James (YoYo) alluded to (vice-versa), change the beat to a shuffle during the choruses... that would really make it sound interesting...

I'm guessing that if I were to hear this in a crowded room somewhere it would be so loud I wouldn't be able to hear the vocals without plugging my ears.  I'm glad I can hear them here.  :)  Great stuff...big, in-your-face, and well-done.
