The matrix 12 demo was not working well with sonar. Vst2 was not detected and vst3 crashed sonar on all 3 tries. Sonar was not listed as a daw that they had tested their plugins with.

All the Arturia VST 3 versions don't work in Sonar ( and a few from other manufactures too).

For the original V collection I had to totally uninstall and reinstall VST 2 only to get it to work. I have yet to try the demos of the new products but I will not install VST3

If you go to %install drive%:\Program Files\Common Files\VST 3 and carefully rename the offending VST 3's then open SONAR it will rescan your VST's and delete the offending VST 3 and enable the VST 2 versions.  Then when whomever is at fault with the VST 3 implementation solves the problem you can just rename them back.

I find it most interesting that it is only my Arturia VST 3's that fail, even the free ones seem to work fine.

I have the V Collection 3, which I cheerfully got for $149 a few months back.  LOVE it, even though I have to use VST2 versions of the synths.

I myself do not see the value in getting this upgrade - not enough different stuff than what I already have with version 3.

I have several Solina emulations already, that sound good enough to where I wouldn't use this new one.

I think I will pass on this particular one.

I have been playing around with the demos. They are nice but at at 149 euros (half as much again as I paid for original V collection) I will pass because I have the ground covered quite well already.

The Solina V seems suprisingly versatile and the presets offer a much broader pallet than I was expecting. This is helped by the addition of the Vox Humana sound and the resonators section, aided by effects. The dedicated effects do a beter job than the Kontakt effects utalised by Hollow Sun's string synths. Of course if you have some decent effects to drop into Sonar's FX bin/pro channel you can probably reproduce much of what is going on here.

The Vox seems to sound a lot better than the freebee it originated form, I much prefer the Hammond sound and the Vox and Farfisa in NI's Vintage Organs or Hollow Sun's Vox are more than adiquate for my transistor organ needs.

The Matrix 12 does not run well on the old laptop I am using for testing. I will give it another go when I am back home and can try it on my DAW. It appears to be a very nice synth, inbetween the crackles and pops it seems to have some very good presets and there is plenty of scope for editing.

Anyone experience problems with the new versions of the synths? The Solina for example starts crackling etc after a few seconds use. I don't usually suffer from dropouts. I have a powerful hexacore processor. But the Solina starts crackling like the computer is crawling on its knees. I'm using vst2 version. 64 bit.

I did notice a few problems and as i said the Matrix did not run well at all. But I was testing on a laptop that was not set up for audio and using the built in Realtech sound so I put it down to that.

Not noticed any crackling with the Solina.

The Matrix suffers from not responding well to Note off in both standalone and plugin.  Seems to work OK when used with a midi stream within SONAR.  This problem has been reported to Arturia and has been escalated to the development depart by the support person I have been communicating with.

I am surprised at the cost as I got the upgrade for £99 with some gentle shoving.  Though I do own standalone licences for the Modular V, ARP 2600 V, CS 80 V and the Prophet V along with the V 3 collection licence.

The SPARK 2 that comes with 4 is very different than the SPARK VDM that came with 3 as it would appear to have more of the SPARK kits not just the vintage drum machines, it has SPARK Factory, SPARK 2 Factory, SPARK Vintage, and some/part of the EDM and Hip Hop expansion packs.

Some, but not all, patches in Solina causing crackling here.  Reducing the level of the convolution reverb mix helps to clear this up.

Matrix causing big time CPU hits and lots of snap crackle and pop.

These problems have been noted on the Arturia user's forums.  Looks like Arturia may have rushed this update out a little too quick.  Probably didn't want to miss the year end shopping season.

The new software management app doesn't recognize all of my Arturia software.  Also refuses to acknowledge that I have installed Spark.  Spark is working fine.

Good (I guess) that I'm not the only one experiencing problems. Lets hope they sort them out as soon as possible. I will try lowering the convolution reverb as suggested by Zenwit. Thanks
