It continued long after that. I became a Cakewalk user in 2007 and I used to post there before it eventually disappeared.

What about the Compuserve forum in the early '90s? Greg H. posted on that all the time. It only took about a minute for a page to load.

I'm still here.  I forget what my handle was back then.
 
I remember ModBod from the old days. 
 
That group got me into "rolling my own" - I built my first and second audio computers with their help.
