I heard a bunch of songs written/produced by Jim Messina yesterday on my drive home.  They were some songs from Poco, Buffalo Springfield, and Loggins & Messina. I sent Jim an email wishing him a happy birthday and he replied today. It's been a long time since I spoke with him last.  I played drums on his "One More Mile" album after Loggins & Messina.
He is one fine gentleman and I have always admired his work.

As a kid the Sleeve art for Poco's Legend album, with the minimal lines of a horse running would draw me into listening my fathers record. This thread reminded me to re-listen and I am glad to be doing it. They had such a light lovley balance to their sound, and a style that never corny or cheesy, but the right side of easy listening.
