..... It came across similar to R-Mix or Breverb not working in X3 without an additional fee to port it from X2. Perhaps a bit more extreme of a reaction than it should be.

What??!??

Not here, I'm using both R-Mix and Breeverb in X3 with no additional fees involved.

Maybe because I still have X2 and X1 fully installed?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe he was just giving an analogy IF R-Mix & Breverb not able to work without paying extra......at least that's how I read it.

LOL... I need to be careful what I type! Yeah that was simply an analogy of my reaction of AD1->AD2. R-Mix and Breverb are fine and dandy.

Bottom line is, if you own any previous extra AD1 content (ie. adpaks, kitpieces), you need to choose one of the 2 upgrade offers to get all of your AD1 stuff upgraded.  The other Holiday offers are not for this purpose and will get you AD2 content only.

And yes, I agree it's not stated very clearly.  With all the Sonar X3 users who have gotten AD1/AD2 bundled, this has and will cause a lot of confusion when they try to upgrade.

I have never had an issue with XLN, and absolutely love their installer (I wish CW had the same thing actually).

+1 for both

XLN's installer is actually the reason I can now connect my DAW to the internet.   Prior to it being included with X3 I had no connection whatsoever and no plans to add one.   Since doing so, however, it has been really, really convenient.

Oh, and +1 for XLN and their installer concept, both have been smooth going and without issue for me.

Stevec, I did the same thing. Swore up and down that I'd NEVER connect my DAW to the internet, ...... But wow, it's SO convenient! I only hook it up when I need to up/download.

So I guess I should say "Thanks XLN", even though I was not happy with them for quite a while! lol

Ha... you too?!

In hindsight I realize I should have done it a while ago.   I simply shut my wireless down when I don't need it, easy peasy.
