So I have two mixes. One made by a professional and one made by me, and I'm not experienced at all, but spent a lot of hours trying to get the right sound. I vote for Mix 2.  It has more sparkle in the highs, and if the low end was rolled off just a 1/2 dB or so I think it would be just right.

I don't know which mix was yours/theirs.
