and yeah, there are plenty of good mics out there, especially for a grand, but i like the ksm44.
it works for me.

i'm still debating certain mix elements, a couple of places i really WANTED it to stick out, but in others, i'd like it to work with the arrangement...
i like the occasional aural shock treatment, keeps the listener from getting too lazy.

THOUGHT I'D give it a weekend bump before i do the next mix on it...

I've recently been spending time trying to get the best acoustic guitar sound i can and its great to hear someone who has got it spot on. Also i realy love the song and the overall sound is just soooo nice to listen to. Ear Candy!!!!!

P.S you asked about the low end.
The balance is fine on my set up (Rokit 5s or DT990 phones). I think how the low end weight gives a great foundation to the guitars and allow you to enjoy the guitars to the full without distracting. But when you listen for the bass guitar its self you can pick it out easily and enjoy its growly tone.

So just right IMO

i think the idea of filling out the low end, without swamping the guitars, is what i was after...
kinda what you are describing what you are hearing.
i did a new mix of this during the weekend work break, and i think i've been able to bring the guitars up without changing the bass dynamics....
i'll post the new one this evening
