FWIW Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners have been feast time in my life as far back as I can remember.
Turkey, Honey spiral cut ham, dressing and mashed potatoes with choice of white and/or brown goblet gravy, orange sause for the ham, mashed sweet potatoe with cinnamon and walnuts baked with a marshmellow topping , those little sweet pickles, green and black olives, celery with a cheese mix spread on them, deviled eggs, variety of vegatables, hot rolls, pumpkin and apples pies...and I'm probably forgetting something... this year was no different.
My wife is now the cook that knows not only how her mother taught her but mine as well. I've been thankful for every meal. (the only bad turkey I've ever seen at my house was in Christmas Vacation and that was funny as hell!)
They are both times of the year that I take vacation(s). I was off 11 days in Nov. for the holiday and I'll be off 21 days in Dec. for Christmas. Eat, sleep, relax and be merry with the ones I love and very close friends...it's that time of year for me and surely something I'm thankful for while missing the ones that are gone.
