I've been a long-time Sonar user, and one of the things I use it for is to record my practice times for the purpose of self-evaluation and improvement. I was working on an arrangement of John Lennon's song, Imagine, which I have always really liked.

Sooooo...

...I totally cracked up when I listened to my previous evening’s recording of Imagine. Wow! I had too much coffee before I got on the horn! By the end of the middle solo section, I think I've played every note possible on the saxophone at least 32 times. If you like a lot of fast notes and want to hear me play real high, it's kinda nifty. But, it's probably not in sync with the peace, love, and happiness vibe that Lennon had in mind. Sounded cool at the time though.

Here, imagine this:

IMAGINE

I hope you find this as amusing as I did. Rhythm tracks by Robert Parrs.

Too many notes or not, this is an enjoyable journey both in the past and the present.  Your production is first class as is your arrangement.  I imagine that it may well be in sync with John's vision because it was played with love.  Thanks for putting this up.

You have a nice groove going and a sweet tone on that horn.

Nice improvisational playing..... nothing wrong with it IMHO....

Another nice Sunday morning tune.

Thank you, Lynn! Yes, it was played with love. It is a great song, and we could stand to listen to a message that encourages love and respect for all. Thanks, my friend. I appreciate it.

Thanks, James. Wow...the location of your first hearing of this song is poignant. I was but a youngster. I remember watching Walter Cronkite on my dad's lap. I don't know what to say except, "Thank you."

Thanks, Guitarhacker. I really appreciate that from a guitarist because I know guitarists are all about tone! Hope you're enjoying your week!
