Pretty bold confidence going up against EVH.    Rockin' !   If I sang like that Robby, I would be horse for a week.  Amazing.

Good job guys.   I really was into jazz during the whole VH era, so I've only heard some of the tune incidentally, things like this and Jump. I've seen a couple concerts on TV but I don't remember enough to compare your cover.  Of course I know enough of EVH to be extremely impressed with is rock guitar talent.  But this is rockin!

Mike - Thanks for the comment.

Charlie - Appreciate the listen.  This was actually a remix of the version I posted a while back with only one new ingredient which was adding a Guitar Rig 5 patch in with my PodFarm patch that I previously used and I doubled the drum track to give it a bigger punchier sound.    The vocals are two harmony tracks that Robby sent, copied and pasted numerous times and a few Wave Ultrapitch harmonies.   Layers of BGV (I think about 10-12 tracks of BGV with varying degrees of reverb, delay, modulation.   I always pitch correct all the BGV.  I would say any mediocrity on the vox side you are hearing are due my mixing abilities.  The raw vox tracks sound pretty amazing.   Thanks again for the listen.   BTW, I have been practicing this song since 1979, finally got it;)

Bob-Appreciate you coming back to hear the remix, I am glad that it meets your approval.   Your stuff definitely rocks hard..

Herb- Thanks.   I bet this was a big hit back in the day with the band.   This was one of my fav VH songs, although I like most of the stuff with DLR.   I appreciate your feedback.

Vicente- Thanks for the comment.  Yes, I know there are some timing issues here and there.  I actually never intended to do this song, I played along to the original using a Podfarm patch, shortly after I bought the Platinum version, just to see how close it sounded to VH.  I liked it so much I added the bass and drums and asked Robby to sing it.  I never went back to fix the guitar parts.  Thx for the listen.

Frank - thanks for the listen.   Tried to keep this one close to the original as possible.

Lynn -  Thanks for the comment.  You tackle some pretty incredible stuff yourself.

Dan - Thanks for the comment.

Daryl - That's why I picked one of EVH's easier songs;)  He is a very talented guitarist for sure.   I think Robby was a little miffed that I did the song in E rather than tuning down to the classic VH Eb tuning.    Oh well, he pulled it off.   Thanks again.

This is great in my opinion! Being a die hard VH fan that also plays in a VH tribute band, this is as good or better than anything we've recorded. Vocals are better than what Roth can do today and right up with anyone else covering DLR with a similar timbre.

Guitars were great, drums a bit more modern to me which I liked better than the original. Bass was better than Anthony's because it didn't have that flat, distorted sound that I hate. Your attention to detail in covering the parts as well as the mix Mark, are fantastic to me. I'm so convinced, if someone sent me this and said "hey, I found an old bootleg of VH" I'd buy into it as being true. The guy singing has more depth to his voice with less screechiness than Roth which I also like. Great job...remix sounds killer. Way to go!

side note: this song was one of the easier EVH songs to learn since it didn't involve all that fancy-dancy finger stuff that was his trademark technique back in the day... it's mainly chords, and variations....

Danny - Thanks for the compliment.   I actually am using the tweaked Bass and Kick/Snare ProChannel settings that you helped me with on the Born To Run Cover.   Plus I added the Neve Console Emulation plug to all the drum tracks and have two copies of the drums (the original tracks and a bounced track that are Eq's and compressed a little different.   It seemed to add some more dimension and realism.  The guitar is my original PodFarm patch plus a GR5 patch I got from a gent on the Internet.   I always record a wet and dry guitar signal so I can add or change things later.  I agree on the vocals, Robby did a great job on them.  Thanks again.

Herb - Why do you think I picked this VH song;)?  It is one of the easiest for sure.   Although the main thing with VH (next to the playing) is to capture that VH sound.    Some of these new amp sims have some pretty awesome capabilities in that regard.

Thanks Shawn, appreciate the comment.
