Superb!  I'm sure whatever you add to this will enhance it because it can stand on its own.

^ I totally agree with Lynn - anything added to this piece will probably be just icing on the cake.

Nothing else I can say unless you want a complete harmonic analysis. I can't help doing that even mentally, when listening to music. I can tell you that the piece is in Ab - the V7 (Eb7) and colorings told me!

With the piano only, I can see this serving as background music for a film or scene in a film. It also sound like a great piece for a soloist if you ever decide to put lyrics with it.

It's calm, peace and relaxing. I hope the enhancing is done well so it doesn't take away from it as the piano seems to be the focal instrument. I do hope you don't fall into that "getting it to sit in the mix" trap.

Wonderful job.

I agree with Frank, commenting is a compliment whenever it's done.  I looked back a couple pages after you commented on our song.  Not far enough I guess.  My comments stand from 3 years ago except I have no metal on my mind this time.  So beautiful, this needed to be heard again.  I thank Frank for digging farther.  I thank you for a beautiful performance.

The piano is such a beautiful instrument by itself.   I think this composition stands on its own quite well.

Nice dynamics and expression in the playing..... hearing this kind of playing makes me regret not sticking with piano when I started learning guitar, but the guitar was such a sexy instrument and much easier to carry around. My piano teacher was always preaching dynamics and expression to me....

well done.

The piano was beautifully recorded! I love to hear when it is real. It can stay where it is now because it is lovely. But you can try what you said a Cello or Flute. Or maybe some jazz bass and a drum on brushes.

WONDERFUL performance/piece.  I agree with Jimmy a Jazz piece with a Upright bass and a brush drum kit.  KUDOS!

notnat - I was surprised to see this one up on the forum again.  I thought it got lost in the archives for good.  Thanks for taking a listen...and yes, I hope to post more of these in the future.

Lynn - It was my hope at one time for a Cello on this, but those Cello guys are hard to find.  Thanks for the listen and good to know/reinforce that it can stand by itself.

Rus - I think you nailed that coloring on this.  A harmonic analysis or chording someday would be cool if I give this off to someone for additional tracking.  Thanks.

Warren - Yes, my first reaction scanning down the songs page was... Someone else wrote a song named "Oh February"?...what a coincidence.  Took me a few seconds to realize.

Guitarhacker - My piano teacher (mom) was preaching the same things to me as a little kid.  And she was hard to avoid in the evenings when I didn't want to practice.  lol.  It's funny, but I hear all this good guitar on this forum and it sometimes makes me wish I would have taken up the guitar.

^ You're welcome! I love coloring and I did do the crayon kind as a child. It's bled into my music since then Not to mention, I try to stay inside the lines (hear that jsaras).

I could give you one now if you'd like, but as I told another user, I could be wrong as it'll only be an aural interpretation. I'm being facetious unless you really want that. Having said that, an analysis probably isn't important at this point nor is it really needed. I threw that in there as a "joke."

However, I am serious about the coloring (Notice my name on the forum in the link in my signature. That is not a coincidence!)

Looking forward to hearing other works of yours.

Vicente - Thank you for listening and your comments. It's a pleasure to try differnet micing positions when recording the grand piano...so many different possibilities.  I like your jazz guitar works.

Kev - A pleasure to hear your comments. Yes, Jimmy would have liked the brushes and upright; I'll have to see what I can do.

Beautiful... One of my greatest accomplishments as a musician is to "call myself" a keyboard player... You very clearly are what I like to call myself.

This is beautiful.

The piano is the 1st instrument anyone should learn as it is the foundation for all other music IMO.

The pedals, the dynamics, the pauses, the runs... This was masterfully played and a joy to listen to.

I may have brightened you a bit more, but my ears are not what they were. And I'm pretty sure this was a live piano performance, because I can hear the pre-amps. It would be nice to hear it recorded in Ivory, and bounced on the grand, with the right verb and pad... But this is "masterfully played..." Just really really good.  Excellent keyboards.
