Nice extra snare at the end and sweet vocal effects too. thumbsup.

Definitely agree with what others have written: very Gabriel-esque! The backing vocals really help the warmth of the track. Cool funky ending as well -- reminds me of the twists early Genesis put into their songs.

Kev, I look forward to hearing how you use the backward f/x.  It's always been one of my favorites, and it works well on vocals.

M@B, thanks for your time and ears.  You're hearing some of the more subtle things I threw into the pot which tells me you have good ears and engineering experience.

cwestmont, I appreciate you dropping by and replying with your kind words.  This forum just gets better all the time.

I like to hear subtlties in a mix. There's lots in yours. I don't have much experience engineering. Read a whole bunch of stuff through the years, but really just trying my hand at it recently. Mainly been messing around with garage bands, etc.

Hi, Lynn,

I know I commented on the first mix a few weeks ago, but my post seems to be missing.  I've had that happen a few times on the forum in the past.

Anyway, this is really terrific!  To me, it seems like a very cool, modernized progressive rock song with dynamite vocals, fantastic synth work and a crystal clear, nicely textured, pro sounding mix.

Excellent stuff, Lynn, this sounds radio ready to me, great work, buddy!

Hi Bob, I haven't forgotten your comments from before.  In fact, they made my day as your latest comments do, as well.  Coming from one as talented as you, I consider this high praise.  I thank you and everybody who revisited this song for your precious time.  Your ears and experience have greatly benefited me with this project.

What a great job you did.  The song is excellent and so is the production.  The vox is very distinct and original.  Nice vox processing and harmonies.  Everything is nicely mixed.  Yeah - Peter Gagriel and I can hear Mr. Mister and the drum part reminds me of Phil Collins.

Geno, thank you very much for your kind words.  I'm listening to your song "You can be Free" right now and digging it very much.  I, also, enjoyed the cover of the Gino Vannelli song you posted recently.  I'll be visiting your site more frequently.

Lynn I'm just catching up on some listens as I've been away from the forums for awhile  (ha, so I could get some work done in the studio!)    Came back and caught yours here and not a lot I can add that hasn't been said above but I wanted to add that in addition to that wonderful vocal style, agree with the peter gabriel/genesis but also something about the WAY you processed the vocals brought to mind steely dan or even pink floyd - all from eras that I love to hear, and your production is top-notch.  Also, I personally loved the ending, as I liked to hear it "winding down" from that fast paced driving rhythm and you brought it to a definitive ending very nicely IMO.   I also love the lyrics, and the way that "Lucky Star" was brought out in its meaning.   Very well done, and I appreciate you sharing it!

John, thank you very much for your time and support.  BTW, the strings at the ending are the new ones that came with X2, which are considerably better than the ones I had before.  I'm glad that you "grok" it.
