I haven't tried them yet, Most good pianos are wasted on my playing level, so I try not to invest in them. Just use the ones I already have. But that's not why I posted. I just wanted to chime in and say, "what is wrong with you, Mike?" I know something is. Don't get me wrong, being "not quite right" is AOK with me, but I took one look at your American Gothic avatar and just had to shake my head. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate your sense of humor, and fear that I may even "get it".

I don't think they are bad at all..If you already have Ivory...that's a tough one to beat. Maybe a little EQ in Ivory could give you the results you're after.

The new Komplete has quite a few new pianos in it. These are not the ones in Kontakt. If I could only pick one from that bunch it would probably be the one called "Giant". It blends well in mixes, especially if you're trying to soften the piano for something like soft jazz or a ballad.

If you're looking at some kind of a sale...it couldn't hurt to have a wide selection:)

I like the UVI-bundle. Nice sounds and GUI. Guess the Synthogy's still higher end. Maybe try EW QL Pianos or ProductionVoices Gold. Or Piano in Blue, for some character. Or even Sonivox's EightyEight.

I have ivory 2, addictive keys, komplete 9, alicia keys, true piano and pianoteq 5.

My favourite sample based piano is alicia keys and physical modeling ones is pianoteq. Pianoteq imho has the best dynamic range unmatched by even the ivory2's 18 velocities stainway. It is my go to piano.
