Needing some votes to help move me into the top 100 mixes.  There are over 400 entries in this mix competition.  Mixed using the new X2 Producer tools.

Thanks in advance.  This is the only time I have asked for votes on here but a winner would look good on Cakewalk and Sonar products.  Pensado is a hardcore Pro Tools user.

Really like it a lot! Very interesting track: drums and horn. Around 2:52 maybe have the drums use brushes to tame it down a bit and bring it back around 3:58.

Hey Brett,
Are you using precorded tracks in this contest, or are they something you recorded?  If you can, I would recommend taming that continually ringing snare a bit...it sounds like long reverb almost.  In contrast, the horns are very dry.

This New Orleans-y tune might sound really good with a club-type ambience on the whole mix...give those horns a space.

Otherwise very good job!  I'm listening on laptop cans, so can't speak about EQ much.

Hi Brett, I listened to and voted for you in the contest -- I am an Indaba member as well. You can listen to my latest entry on my soundcloud link in the signature or the long messy link below. As much as I like your entry, I think there are a lot of strong entries on Indaba in general and this contest in particular. Completely subjective view: i think it is really really hard to standout/differentiate with jazz instrumental remixes. Nice job, nonetheless. http://api.awe.sm/url/sha...Fsubmissions%2F136581&

Good luck in the contest.  I enjoyed this bit of music because it's something rarely heard around here.

These are made available as stems to mix.  As I recall, there was only 13 tracks in this one.  I did not record these.  These are good for me to help learn the art.  The last one I entered was 83 stems!  That put me and my system to the test.

If you voted, thanks for your support.
