A wish list of sorts, suspicions and expectations from your favourite software developer, what's messing in their arsenal that you'd want to see or hope to see filled.
I have XLN's Drums and Keys:
They don't have a mallet kit, I think that would be a nice addition. They seemed to have covered most bases, for me apart from this. I seem to recall reading that when they did their percussion kit, it was to replicate a drum kit set up, not provide a complete range of percussion. Due to the restriction in AD2 to their sounds only, I'd like to see them provide a greater range of percussion through their 'kit piece' option, which to a degree they do already.
They have Grand, Upright, Rhodesna Electric. Will they add wurlitzer, or something less available like a Clavinet, I can see this suiting there brand
Will they add a new instrument, so many sampled guitars, but again I can seee this suiting their brand, and making their range more rounded. Something like Amplesounds, with a guitar and bass. They have already teamed with Peavey to make their own Amp model, so something could be built in to the effects section
AAS:
They have me baffled, they seem to be so apart from chromophone, they haven't really done a great deal of virtual modelling. Strum built on the string models. They updated the package, but string studio seems more like a organic strings source than truley re-creating. Not a bad thing for some people, but if they were to develope it, they'd have to nail that real sound to make it worth it. So will they go in a new direction. Arturia and Wallander seemed to have covered the virtual brass and wind market. With chromophone that moved into sympathetic resonance, a factor my old piano teacher flatmate complained virtual modelling could never master to make a piano, maybe this is their next step. Would they succeed and make a realistic piano, and one you can draw away from it's authentic sound to create organic sound keys with a different texture. I'm a fan of Esbjorn Svenson Trio, and he used to do things to his piano to de-pianofy it, so maybe their would be an interest in a piano you could mangle and modify to create something that doesn't exist
