Larry,

I don't need no more drums. Just saw Jamstix updated and haven't opened it in over a year.

The collective do need you however.

So many times I've had to sleep on the back porch over something I bought from your heads up, and the wife found out. You owe me a karmic debt to get back in the ring and keep the guys updated.

Wish all things could be posted here, but likely not going to happen. As much as I'm trying to get away from new plugs, don't mind sailin' over to the Deals forum as long as you can find them.

Very best and good to hear from you,
John

Thanks, Larry, for the heads up. I love EastWest stuff.
But I love your CW presence even more.
Indeed, the collective do need you.

Just read the blurb - they do sound very expensive!!!!
But, like most people, I have drums pretty well covered.
I think they may find launching a product like this into a very mature market place, quite hard going. Unless they offer some pretty attractive pricing, can't see many people buying this if they already have BDF, Addictive Drums, Ezdrummer, Superior Drummer etc etc

Reading the site info seems like this is a EZ Drummer 2 / SSD4 competitor product just from the feature you get.

2 different volumes and clockin in at 100 GB for both.  100 GB!!!!  DAMN.

the info doesn't say anything about this being a Play engine product, though I am sure it probably is.

Like other have said I'm pretty much covered for drums and I don't know that this really would add anything to my toolbox.  the 10,000 midi performances might be interesting but, I can get those other places or have many types included in other packages.

Guess it will really depend on demo's, videos and price.

Guarantee it's Play. That interface on the left and right is Play's. Also EW is all Play all the time because "Oh those evil pirateses, we have to develop our own software to stop them!!!111one". Unfortunately, Play has been nothing but problems for me (I've used it since version 1) and so I won't buy any more EW stuff until they wise up, which is going to be never.

As a practical matter with drums, ya like others said, I'm set. I have trouble seeing how this would do better than BFD3. It sounds so amazing and is extremely flexible, which is something EWs stuff is usually not.

Plus Play doesn't seem to have worked out sample compression yet, so the sizes are bigger than they need to be. That's something I love about BFD3, is despite the quality, it isn't all that large on disk. They say it is about 160GB of sample data, but it takes 55GB on disk.
