One of my all-time favorite freebies is now 64-bit and VST3, and has some new features.

Cool. I thought was going to end up in the dustbin upon my next reinstall (whereas I will no longer install any 32bit DAW).

i've been using this one for about 7 years.

great plug.

i use it on VOX, most of all.

sometimes on doubled 'clean' bass parts, dirty them up, and mix them in with the clean track.

it even sounds good on acoustic guitars, to add some grit.

I use it primarily on bass, but I've applied it to vocals, too, and also in parallel. I expect it'd be worth a try on just about anything you want to dirty up a bit. It was one of just two 32-bit plugs that made the cut when I moved to a 64-bit DAW (the other was Kjaerhus Classic Chorus).

Just trying 2.0 out now...lovin' it. Really makes a bass line cut through a dense mix. 14 Cabinet/Mic combinations. Woohoo!  Cab "B" + U87 is my favorite so far for bass. No wait, it's Cab "B" with beta52 "bright". Either way, FF Saturn  just went into permanent bypass on this track.

Can't wait to try it on some guitars.

No problem, John. I liked your novel spelling of "Bootex". Sounds like a waterproofing treatment for cowboy footwear.

If it'll make you feel better, I don't think anyone's mentioned Voxengo's Overtone GEQ update yet. It's all yours.

Bit,

Off topic...

Hope you are moving through adjustments against a severe blast in the physical realm. This my concern more than anything vst. Been there also and only time will heal as we move forward. Takes us about a year minimum to readjust and put numbing time in the way against a tragic loss. Our wound never heals as long as we crawl around on all fours in the physical, but about a year out, we can regroup and go forward.

Me being a non Christian heathen, my cosmology celebrates the beauty of an upward and ever progressive transition. No entity in our deep relation is ever lost. There is only progress and blessedness ahead for all of us. Loved ones who have transitioned out of evident life have done so because their hard lesson has been learned, paid in full ,and new portals await.

Heavy stuff, John. Yeah, I'm a heathen too, and as such I have no pleasant fantasies to cushion the blow.

Still, I will never belittle those who have offered to pray for me and I genuinely appreciate all the positive energy that folks around here have been sending my way. I have been cast adrift without a compass or a chart, and it's reassuring to hear those distant voices on the shore whether they can help me or not.
