Decided to try and tackle this one.   There is just the first two minutes done so far, just up to the break for the bridge, with a placeholder vocal track, not the intended one.

Really difficult to figure out everything going on in this track but I think I've captured most of it, except some of the really high choral singing.

Thought you might be amused by this effort.  Any and all feedback is welcome!   Thanks for listening!

delighted to see this here. wasn't sure by the title at first but had hoped it was of the 'I Am The..."  :)
probably one of my fav tunes of all times.

you made it nicely so far up to the break & 'sitting in an english garden waiting for the sun' part -

some of the string accoutrements seem to lag in their timing a bit- but not too much-

also, i see that this is a scratch vocal for now- but when you track the keeper you might think about overdriving the mic
the way G Martin did it for Lennon's vox - i think it ads a nice grit to the delivery

well done. was a pleasure to hear this at 6am before work :-)  check out Oasis' version too - it's re-interpreted nicely

Please finish this!  One of the best songs of all time, and you have a handle on it.  I'm not an orchestral expert, but I think it could use more cello for some bite on the strings.  I don't remember if Lennon did it on this song, but he was famous for doubling many of his vocals.  So far, though, so good.

Thank you ABV and Lynn for your kind words!   This is truly one of the masterpieces of rock music and it is incredibly daunting to work on something like this.   I can't tell you enough how much detail there is in the orchestration that I've done.

I worked on this project some more today.   Experimenting with the main vocal to get the edge on it and yes, it is already doubled with 2 separate takes.   Ran one of the vocal doubles through the Amp Sim to get some grit on it.   I also straightened out some of the cello timings.    So, for 2 minutes of song I have about 70 work hours in this so far.     That's almost embarrassing.   All the MIDI parts, which are:  Drums, Shaker, Piano, Cellos, Violins, Trumpets & French Horn.... every note, every stroke was laid in and adjusted by hand.    Vocals, Bass Guitar and Guitar were recorded by microphone into the project.

Anyone have any ideas on how to do the pre-bridge break sound effects?    Bells ringing, jibberish sounds, etc?    Then I have to do the radio sweeps and get King Lear spoken.   Yikes!!    On the original, it turns to Mono at the start of the bridge ("Sitting in an English garden....") and finishes out the song in Mono.   Should I duplicate that?   I'll need a vacation after completing this one.

Here's the latest installment....

that break is complicated in its kaleidoscope of sounds and melodic mode shift too along with the mono transition - you might try tripping on acid and dialing around on AM radio with some Schubert playing in the background ;p  ( i think they stumbled upon King Lear on the BBC that way)

you could also sample the original section and mess with it in some creative manner- put it though a phaser or filter can etc. as a tiny 'homage' to the original

you're going to have fun w/ the hohohoheeheehaahaahaa parts & the everybody's-got-one(everybody-smokes-pot lol) parts.

ya know -for reference- you might want to check out the true stereo remix that George Martin did for Cirque du Soleil  - it's on the Love album that came out like 6 years ago

looking forward to this --  it's in my top 5 favorite songs of all time

I  took Daren's advice and snipped in a tripped out break for now. And I also fixed some nagging details in the orchestration that were part of the clean up detail. It's pretty spot on in the major details now.

Wookiee - thank you for the encouragement!

Stay tuned!  I think I have the courage and stamina to work the rest out.

I deleted and reinstalled the link, seems to work now.   I also noticed a corrupted section at the 1:36 mark and got it corrected.  Sorry about the glitch!   Should be okay now.
