Thank you ABV and Lynn for your kind words! This is truly one of the masterpieces of rock music and it is incredibly daunting to work on something like this. I can't tell you enough how much detail there is in the orchestration that I've done.
I worked on this project some more today. Experimenting with the main vocal to get the edge on it and yes, it is already doubled with 2 separate takes. Ran one of the vocal doubles through the Amp Sim to get some grit on it. I also straightened out some of the cello timings. So, for 2 minutes of song I have about 70 work hours in this so far. That's almost embarrassing. All the MIDI parts, which are: Drums, Shaker, Piano, Cellos, Violins, Trumpets & French Horn.... every note, every stroke was laid in and adjusted by hand. Vocals, Bass Guitar and Guitar were recorded by microphone into the project.
Anyone have any ideas on how to do the pre-bridge break sound effects? Bells ringing, jibberish sounds, etc? Then I have to do the radio sweeps and get King Lear spoken. Yikes!! On the original, it turns to Mono at the start of the bridge ("Sitting in an English garden....") and finishes out the song in Mono. Should I duplicate that? I'll need a vacation after completing this one.
Here's the latest installment....
