It's good that peeps have confidence, but I've lost all due to past performance. I was looking at the D8B as well Mully, these guys made a software for about $300.00 to turn the D8B into a full controller http://www.bluaudio.org/d8bridge/

Wow Norrie that looks awesome, time to go do more research. Thanks man. Looks damn expensive though.

Yeah man someone said on one of the other forums that it might be in 2 versions so should be interesting.

I just don't understand what all the angst is about. If you got good results with 8.5.3 and the VS700, keep that system for mixing. I'm still using it. As much as I'd like to see X2 and the VS700 get together, I'm not going to make the jump to X2 until it works right with the system. You can track with X2, mix with 8.5.3 or X1d. It's not what we want but it is a workable solution until they come up with updated VS700 software. I bought X1 and expanded to get the Pro Channel modules. I will use both. There's just no reason to beat your brains out for an update that hasn't happened yet. Everybody wants the latest toy.

Dunno about 'toy' Craig.... I can understand your points but the reality is that the X1 'upgrade' wasted a load of hours and you have to wonder why we weren't warned before paying the coin and being led to believe all will be well etc... not interested in staying with the past as there is no support and the X series are where Sonar is at now.

It is a ridiculous concept for Cake (or any other X1/2 upgrading customer) to expect us to use 8.5 now as a workaround.

Hopefully they DO update the system but you would have to be kidding yourself to think it is anywhere near a priority for them. Do not hold your breath, even my fan boi glasses are glazed over surely by now?

Cheers.

Cakewalk said they are working on the fixes they identified or were reported from the users in X1/2, so why aren't folks looking to the next update before they make their final verdict? I think a few users thinks the next V700 update will be a failure too, so they're predicting the future in advance.

It's because we have been here long enough. It's not about whether the next update will be a failure or not. It's about that X1 broke many aspects of VS700c, and X1d (!) fixed many of them. Now we got the very same thing with the release of X2. Yes, the upcoming update will fix many or most of them, while maybe 1 or 2 small improvements (aka feature requests) are added.

Some people can't accept that the 4K flagship is an afterthought, and probably always will be. They're not keen on going through the same experience with X3. That's why they are looking for other options.

We could also wait for X3b to make our very final verdict ...

It's not too late yet. But you can't blame anyone in here for being upset.

Additional faders in banks of six is a little odd maybe?

Cheers.
