This is the first song Mark Cline and I wrote together.  It's still one of my favs.  Bill Davies did all the keys and, well you know what he does.  Mark sent the music after we had worked on "Missing Person".  I started in one direction and then got Bill's phenomenal tracks.  I totally changed what I was writing then.  Just shows to go ya, different musical collabs can change your whole direction on a tune.  This was done in May of 2009.  Since we are in the middle of a new song right now SO I thought maybe I'd give the new guys a bit of Pugtones history.  I really hope you like it.  It's done so it won't be remixed but any suggestions are always requested and might help us on another tune.

Hey Warren
I blast from the past. I've always liked the vibe of this piece the way the electric guitar solo plays with the piano. That verb really adds space to the mix, I LIKEY!
Excellent lyrics and vocal delivery. One of my all time PUGS favs.  KUDOS GENTS!

There's 60 Hz hum in the silence before it starts you could easily remove.
Nice crispy sound, great job on the acoustic guitars.

Warren, this is one of my favorites of yours.  This is good songwriting and performance all the way.  If this were food there would be no leftovers because it's so tasty.  You'll have to excuse me now, I made myself hungry.

The textures on this song are just gorgeous. Beautiful front to back mixing. And a beautiful vocal tone on the high notes (2:14...wow...now that's nice)

Wow, I'd forgotten about this tune.

I wrote the music to this one in 2009 - a very emotional year for me. After 26 years of marriage, my wife and I separated in January of that year. (FYI - it didn't last - we got back together in November of that same year and are very happy and are getting ready to celebrate our thirtieth anniversary.)

Anyway, I had just finished mixing and mastering Missing Person. I don't know if Warren realizes this, but that was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. The lyrics of that tune were heartbreaking - I was an emotional mess trying to finish my work on that tune - it was just too close to my real life at that time.

Within a couple of days of that I wrote the music to this one - I must say, I was in a fairly strange frame of mind at that time. It would be impossible for me to write something like this today - I'm just not in that frame of mind any more.

Thanks Warren for posting this - I had forgotten. And it remids me just how much my life has changed in the past three years.

Life is good.

You'll want to mute that amp sound at the beginning during the silence :-)

I haven't seen colors for quite some time, I don't do that stuff anymore.

I like that trippy guitar.

And your voice is quite well suited to this.  Very expressive. I don't remember hearing this, but it's actually quite good. The drums are sparse but perfect. The only thing that really sucks is the bass? LMAO!! (Just kidding Warren)
