Wow John, you're really starting to find your niche with this intense soundscape thing you've been doing. Time to pursue some video game companies or something. This would be an awesome credit ending to like Final Fantasy or something. Maybe even National Geographic...birds flying, lions going in for the kill or something....I'm hearing all sorts of things this could represent. Nice melody, textures and a great vibe...mix was solid too. Way to go brother....another awesome tune! :)

This was very enjoyable. Good choice on the pan flute as the solo instrument.
The drums sounded really good as well.

Excellent track John, really enjoyed this. Loads of atmosphere, nice little details coming and going..right up my street.

Bruce:  Thanks for having a listen I tried to use some sounds that would have been available, Superior Drummer 2.2 for the drums.

James:  Thank you my friend for your ears.

nice melodies, yes, this struck me as a perfect 'nature scene' type soundtrack.

with the mix, i'd suggest trying a different scheme with the drums, besides the hard panning..

try bringing the toms and room mics more inwards, no more than, say 45% to each side, and then throw some of your music tracks way out to the left and right, and see if that feels any different....
just for experiment's sake.

nice work.

Gonzo: Thanks for listening Bat, the strange thing about the drums is that is exactly what I normally OH at about 45% and rooms at about 50%, I even narrow the mains to about 60% max.  Appreciate your ears.

they come across as really wide still...

it's really interesting, playing with the panning...

if you're like me, first blush is always to pan a little harder, but i've been trying to bring drums closer in these days, sometimes almost mono, with just a 30% pan on room and OH's, and depending on the type of song and arrangment, it really seems to tighten up the overall mix.

but this, you've got a wide open arrangement, so you can get away with wide pans.

Nice textures. The whiney synth in the background can go. The song pretty much is the same monotony for the most part and goes absolutely nowhere. That is up until the small random part midway through. The textures were nice though.
