Mike, I've been using Winrar (freeware) for the past 4-5 years and it has done an excellent job (both 32 & 64 bit). (Of course, I don't really use it for anything more than unpacking downloads.)

Thanks Mesh, I was just trying to avoid spending $29 on a extraction app to extract the library I just saved $30 on.

Technically speaking, you don't need to buy it. it will just give you a nag screen when physically open the program. I've been using it for... 10ish years without buying it. It's actually a bit of a joke in the tech industry that someone will eventually buy a copy. ;)

Thanks for the heads up. I should have known. I did buy a copy years ago, but as I mentioned it was 32bit and I lost track of the install disc I made back then.

Actually 7zip is my favourite app for compressed archives, Windows or Linux!
