Thanks for the comments about the mapping differences. I knew that the two programs used different maps.
My reporting of the ability to drag midi from AD2 into EZD2 was just to show that it was possible; I had not known this. My attempts to drag midi from AD2 to EZD2 merely showed me that by putting the midi into EZD2 midi drop zone (in the Song Creator) that EZD2 could show similar patterns and a lot of variations. I do know that there are differences. So if I have a pattern in AD2, I could load it into EZD2's midi drop zone and find a variety of midi files in EXD2 that were somewhat similar and which gave different variations for helping with creativity. It at least showed similar rhythms, but yes there are differences. For me it helped get ideas into the Midi Song Creator to get me out of a rut.
[EDIT: I can not figure out in AD2 how to load the EZDrummer Map for AD that I have for AD1--so the following is questionable for me---I do have an Ezdrummer map for AD1, but cant figure out how to install it in AD2-so i am stricking through parts of my post below.] Having said this, yes, they do use different maps.
At least there is a map available for use with AD2 so that EZDrummer map can be used in the AD2 program. So if a file is taken from EZD and put in AD2 beats at least the ezdrummer map will help for use of that file in AD2; not that this helps with the drag idea. I do not know of an AD map for use within EZD.
Again, thanks for the helpful corrections and comments about mapping. These comments are helpful and corrective.
