Dad died Sept 11 this year. I just got a message from the weekend sitter telling me that mom isn't eating, won't chew or swallow and she lets liquids just run back out of her mouth, isn't getting out of bed.
We will be going in a couple of days to see her. I think I've mentioned that my dad and her gave my wife POA. She just called and paid for funeral expenses because if mom dies then Cindy, my wife can no longer pay for anything and my sister is well.... she is difficult and getting dementia herself I think. She is self inflicted poor health and has no trust, and is not trustworthy...
I am NOT looking forward to splitting the estate (what is left of it) with her. Going to have to hire an attorney to make her bring moms rings and other stuff back. Mom is in the last stages of Alzheimer's.
Here is to hoping that in 2015 things will "get back to norbal"!!

If you are young you wont remember the "everything is back to norbal" reference. It was from MAD magazine in '67 or '68. It was a IIRC, a two page cartoon of a diary of an LSD trip. The last panel was, "everything is back to norbal now". I have it somewhere upstairs maybe I'll get it out one day and take pictures.

Anyway. If you pray, I covet your prayer in this. If not, please send good MOJO, vibes, good thoughts, or whatever you have.

Thanks!
Julien

Sorry to hear this.

Hope you come through it with a minimum of difficulty given the situation.

You and your family are in my prayers as well. My mother-in-law lived with us for a couple of years before she passed away from Alzheimer's. I'm sorry for your loss. Even though you know she'll finally be free, it's still hard.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you manage to get the legal stuff sorted with the minimum of heartache! My mother hasn't spoken to her 4 siblings for 25 years because of a will-related dispute when their father died. It's such a shame what legal issues can do to a family.

You and your family have my prayers, too.  Best wishes on the legal stuff.
