As many of you know Magix's Indepence free is a nice freebie to have (formerly Yellow tools).

Just noticed that there might a slighlty crippled version of indpendence fx.

Just testing loading IR's into it and save and loaded project and it works...  so basically gives you a 64bit IR fx unit.

Some limitations ... cant change from the standard stereo. Will post if anything else appears....

Elffin,

More info on this?

Origami is a fantastic convolution reverb. Ancient with primitive GUI but still fantastic by any standard. The free version has a couple IR's included but you can't load external IR's. Pro version loads anything but is quite expensive. One of the powerful features is the radical time shift of the IR using Elastiqe. Talk about dark reverbs.

One warning is that there are a lot of Origami reverbs in the market based on Yellow Tools for maybe 20-50 dollars. They use the Origami engine but are limited to the few IR's in the package.

You mentioned that a free fx package where you can load IR's into (I hope) Origami.

Any links?

I used to use the Independence effects quite a bit (I have Independence Pro). This as reminded me I should revisit them, particularly Origami.

I though it was good the effects could be used as a VST as well as in the Independence application. Its a shame you can't do the same with Kontakt.

Thanks guys,

There's probably still a link out there for the free HOF Origami that can be used as a vst.
Excellent plug and can get a lot of miles out of the included IR's even if you can't load your own files with the free version.

At work but will post a link later if it is still available.

Reporting back from the trenches, and the new is not good.

Can't find any remaining link to get HOF Origami free. It done died off the radar unless you guys can find a source. Everything is redirected to what's left of the various Origami fractions for sale, with limited packages of IR's that you cannot change. You guys lucky who have the pro version vst.

Still have the virgin free thing. If you are about to slit your wrists and jump off a bridge because you can't find it, PM me and I will set up some link. Still moral and legal to my limited understanding.

Thanks guys,

Please check PM's for Swoopshare link, HOF Origami free. Searched but couldn't find nothing still existing for the direct download on the web. Assume this is legit and legal to do. Link stays there for 30 days.

Old technology, but if anything software is "vintage", this is a contender. Major forte of this plug beyond generic convolution status is the insane warp, up or down of the locked IR's. Can't add or subtract nothing in the free version, but a whole lot of miles to be had with what is there. Jealous of you guys who own the Pro version that lets you load external IR's.
