Following on from my post with the string sections only, I have now mixed in the rest of the orchestral parts. This includes the woodwind and brass plus piano, harp and percussion. The levels on some of these may sound a bit strong at the moment, but they will adjust in the context of the guitar parts that will be added next.

Congratulations, Stuart.  This is what I've been waiting to hear, and you delivered the goods and then some.  IMHO, this puts you into the upper echelon of composers around here.  I will be listening to this again and again, and awaiting your next composition.

I'm loving the development. I don't like the parts with complete silence but I'm guessing these will have some other instruments in the next version.

You're right - some of the bits do sound a bit strong but seeing as you know what you'll be doing with them that's obviously not an issue.

I really like this. It's easier to hear where you are going with this now. Really cool, everything sounds pretty good. I suppose the final polish is still to come? I agree with the others here who commented that some bits and pieces are coming out a little strong. But no biggie. This works already. I'm curious how you're going to stich it all together in the end. but well done, nice parts and great programing of the strings. And the harp is excellent!

 I haven't heard the prior renditions of this piece but I admire your compositional skills on this in addition to the excellent mix. I hope to hear more of your work here Stuart.

Very nice Stuart.  Impressive undertaking.  The composition sounds great.  If your looking for any suggestions, your Brass sounded a bit odd (timing and abruptness) around 36 seconds.  The strings sounded great as did your use of all the orchestral textures.

Have faith. The next step is to add all of the lead instruments and a little vocal. This should give the peice it's structure and will fill in the gaps. 


I am on my hols in the canaries at the moment but am looking forward to getting on with the next stage when I get back.
