I hate singing. Or I love it but i can't sing hehe. Though on another track I made I got it right, so I'm checking with you how this is sounding. It's an unfinished song and it's unmixed but with some mastering tubes on it. The singing is just one track so it would be easier to hear. No one? I added more tracks to it now anyway. Two people been listening, please just say your opinion, it's really hard judging oneself fairly. If it sux I gotta come up with something else.

My first impression is that your voice used on the verse has a nice tonality and you know how to use it effectively. Sounds great.

The chorus, "the world...", seems like it could use a bit more lo-cut to de-emphasize the fat lo-mids as that's where the tuning could be better.

If you really like the fat sound of the chorus part then I'd try a few re takes or run it thru Melodyne or something like that to get the tuning tighter.

Other wise... overall it sounds pretty good.

sounds like the chorus tries to go major to the minor that has preceded it.... cool stuff but you do need to tune it a bit vocally to nail the notes... you might want to have the background music notes agree with the major scale you switched to. It will sound so much better if the music agrees with the vocals. 

the verse parts sound fine. actually pretty cool vocal delivery- 

you slip flat in the choruses though...are you perhaps tracking the vox w/ both headphones on? this can often make one's voice meander off key- the trick is to keep on phone on and hold it to ear with your hand, and leave other ear open, as it will allow you to correct your pitch before it leaves your throat etc...

if this is not the issue, you can always fix it (sounds like it's doubled or tripled there) in your DAW- make sure to tweak all tracks --

Thanks! It's tripled here. I've put up the other version now too with just one track if you want to hear. Thanks for input, really appreciate it. Unfortunately I've got myself a cold but will see if I can improve on this in the coming weeks and return:)

it's slightly better- but the "the world you live in..." line still wavers noticeably out of tune- 
usually all DAWs have a pitch-correct- or you can install the popular auto-tune plug-in and use that, i normally don't like excessive use of auto-tune, but it's of course de rigueur for rap/hiphop genre so here's the place to use it :)

I listened to both versions and agree with what has been said.  The verses are delivered quite well, but the chorus in both versions is off key.  V-Vocal or Melodyne could fix this in a jiffy.

I just got autotune to work, but how does it work? Do I need to use it when I record or can I make changes now afterwards? I will give it another shot too as soon as I am recovered from the cold I'm having.
