Heh, many have used their bathrooms to record in.  I've used portable closet rods covered with moving blankets as gobos to deaden the area I was recording in too.  You do what you've got to do!

The project studio business is not dependable from what I'm learning. It's up and down and mostly down (for me) at the moment. But I never planned on it being dependable income although I managed to pick up some really nice gear in the last few years and pay for it via studio work.

So, if you want a little side business that also satisfies your creative itch, go for it. But stay with the project manager gig.

There actually is (or was) a guy who recorded his entire album in his car...which he had tricked out for the job. Didn't sound half bad. Wish I could remember his name, sorry.
