OK, so far......

it's simply awful, needs a proper singer and fatter guitar players, the snare is weak, the sax is weird, it needs more cowbell, the horns need more air and my Fender don't sound like my Alembic (or is it t'other way 'round?) and that guy doing the 5ths BGV is the best thing we've got going for us.

Oh yeah, and we all need to get day jobs.

Have I got it right?

And Mooch has not even weighed in yet.

Hey Bapu, I hope you haven't taken offence and lumped me in with dip**** Pete.  I liked the track, it was realy heartfelt and that for me is what making music is all about.  I got the feeling of love and heartfelt emotion from listening to the track so on that level the track worked and was great.  I just found the fake sax a little off putting and the snare needed a little beef.

Please understand that I was not being cruel, I was just giving an honest critique.  As I say the track was warm, loving, fun and told a story.  This makes great music no matter my opinion on a couple of inconsequential elements of the track.

Yes I and I would love a day job, LoL.

Peace Ben

We also want to thank jamesg1213 for his most excellent lead guitar work. And Straummy gets special mention for the solo at 3:22. The CHC (this time) are: Julibee, Old55, Beagle, timidi, Daryl1968, Beepster and 57Gregy.

WOW thanks to Bapu for all the time and people he put into this project. What a great wedding gift. From his heart.

I have been busy this past week merging two homes in to one moving and getting ready for wedding and what not..... when Bapu keeps pestering messaging me about a song we were working on. When I finally listen I find it wasnt our song at all.

Only Bapu could come of with an idea to tourcher and make my ears bleed with his bad vocals colaborate on a cover song as a precious wedding gift!

Seriosuly everyone -- really fun thing you all did ....

and Thank You Bapu for your gift!

Now I must drive the "step daighter" to her 3:30 appointment -

then un pack more ....

oh joy!

Hey, Mooch.

Good luck with all the preparations you'll be doing and changes you're making.  It will be worth it.

Don't forget to stop and take a breath once in a while,
Jan

Hey this turned out much better than I feared...

A worthy tribute to our pal Mooch.

btw Mooch I was invited to appear on this but I thought, nah, I didn't get a wedding invite so why should I.  My plan backfired though because it was much better without me.

Anyway Mooch despite what Bapu sez I think you are a great bloke and I wish you all the best.

@Ben - My comment was meant tongue in cheek. I'm amused how if one amasses all the comments (nits, if you will) about a song, one coud argue the whole song needs to be done over. Glad you enjoyed (and "got") the vibe and reason for the song. Besides, it's simply my most favorite Steely Dan song EVER!!!

@Mesh - If you call singing the same lines over and over just to get one decent(Mooch would object to that) take, yeah it was fun. Actually the fun part was crafting the lyrics trying to keep as much as possible of the original but still make it all about Mooch (he's kind of a beig deal around here, no?).
