As a general rule, the longer you wait the better.
I paid $5,000 for my TV (back when I had such disposable cash) and a month later it was reduced to $1,700 at the same store. And if you buy a laptop, it's best if you just don't look at the ads in the Sunday paper for a while afterward. Addictive Drums used to be $400. Just imagine if you'd bought it back then and then kept up with every new version since. Miroslav Philharmonik was originally $4,000; what is it now, fifty bucks?
I'd still be running Cakewalk for DOS 1.0 if I had any computers that could still boot into DOS, and would be many thousands of dollars richer today. OK, maybe not, because I'd still be using hardware synthesizers. Bad example.
