Great stuff again Malcolm - no disrespect to the lovely (virtual) lady but I'm not a fan of Miriam but, sung by a real person, this would be a winner.

Hi Daryl - You mean to tell me Miriam isn't real?! So who eats the chocolates I send her on her birthday?! Joking aside, sincere thanks and so pleased you like this piece.

Your music is distinctive and unique, and I really like it... again, this is an excellent production... I'd love to see a picture of Miriam... does she have a sister?

Hi Frank - Sincere thanks and so pleased you like this piece. Miriam? You want to meet her? Then your wish is my command!

It is my great pleasure and huge honour to introduce the Delectable, the Delightful, the Delicious ......... MIRIAM!

And yes, Miriam does have a sister! Her name is Avril!

And you all thought 'Miriam' was just a bit of software! Vocaloid Miriam is based on the lovely voice of Miriam Stockley.

What a Lady!

Hi Frank

Ah, Leon and Lola - Hmmmm! Some swear by them and some swear at them! Very much for Pop / Dance music and particularly Japanese Dance music which is a genre of its own. Clarity of words has always been an issue with Vocaloids and in my view Miriam is the best (so that tells you something about the rest!). The Vocaloid community is huge and world-wide and I even have my own fanbase within it (in view of my doddering ancientness, they call me Mister Malcolm)! They do ask that I add particularly Leon to my songs and I may do so in the future.

However, the Engloids (I kid you not, that is really what the English speaking Vocaloids are called!) are about to have a new arrival, called Avanna. She is being billed as a 'Celtic' singer (no demos yet available so who knows what that means!). Being produced and sold by a company called Zero-G. Should be on the market this Autumn. Can't wait!

Best Wishes
Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

Very nice song. I don't generally pay much attention to lyrics but I do like what you've written for this tune.

I've always liked to way Miriam sort of sounds like someone who doesn't speak English but is singing phonetically...like ABBA, I guess.

Anyway, I love the tune and the mix/production sounds good on my cheap headphones...always a pleasure to hear your music.

Hi Gary - Sincere thanks and so pleased you like this piece. I am sure you are absolutely right about Miriam's singing. From how the software works, it looks like the Japanese makers of Vocaloid broke Miriam Stockley's voice down phonetically so they could create a 'dictionary' of sounds which would then create any English word (hence perhaps the somewhat Japanese sound to some English words). A good example is the word "every" which we tend to speak as two syllables - Vocaloid insists on singing it as "Ev-er-ree" - drives me mad! But to be fair, I do use some very obtuse words in my lyrics and I have yet to find one that Miriam can't sing - clever Miriam!
